Choosing the right acid
It is important to select the appropriate acid for the particular cleaning process. Different acids have different properties and react to different materials and impurities. Acids are used for:
- Removal of mineral deposits: Acids are often used to dissolve mineral deposits such as lime, rust and other metal oxides from surfaces. The acidic solution reacts with the deposits and helps to loosen them and remove them more easily.
- Neutralization of alkaline residues: Acids are also used to neutralize alkaline residues. In many cleaning processes, alkaline detergents are used first and then neutralized with acids to ensure thorough cleaning and protect surfaces.
- Removal of organic deposits: In some cases, acids are used to dissolve and remove organic deposits such as fats, oils or protein residues.
Depending on the specific requirements and impurities that need to be removed, acids are used in cleaning in various industries, e.g. in the
- Food and beverage industry: Acids are used to remove organic deposits, such as grease and protein residues, in food processing equipment. They can also be used to dissolve mineral deposits in pipelines and equipment.
- Chemical industry: In chemical production, acids can be used to clean apparatus and equipment to remove residues from chemical processes.
- Pharmaceutical industry: Acids are used in pharmaceutical production to clean equipment and containers to remove contamination and ensure high standards of hygiene.
- Petrochemical Industry: Acids are used in the petrochemical industry to clean pipelines and equipment from deposits, such as corrosion products.
- Power generation: In power plants and steam boilersacids are used to remove scale deposits and improve plant efficiency.
- Metalworking: In metalworking, acids can be used for degreasing, rust removal and for removing oxide layers.
- Textile industry: In the textile industry, acids are used to remove dye residues and impurities from textiles
The products shown on our website are only a selection of our entire product range. There is no universal remedy for the rapid removal of impurities. Some can be removed well with alkaline agents, others better in the acidic range. The large variety of conceivable cleaning problems and the large number of additives, inhibitors and ready-to-use cleaning solutions offered by us make it advisable to obtain detailed advice before starting cleaning.
The same applies to inhibitors, defoamers, scale preventers, corrosion inhibitors, pickling inhibitors, etc. Depending on the plant, material, product and the type of boiler/cooling water is used, different individual challenges arise. We are well equipped for them.
