Scale preventers: Increase cleaning efficiency, extend cleaning system life and prevent possible damage to surfaces or equipment
After all, not all scales are the same: They differ depending on the nature of the plant and the production process. Scaling arises in various areas and, among other things, significantly reduces the heat transfer in evaporators.
In this context, scaling forms, for example, due to changes in the makeup of city water to well water, since city water has higher salt loads. Defective dosing equipment, a break in a heat exchanger resulting in a mixture of media, or process-related contamination, e.g. from the products being processed, as in the case of an evaporator in sugar production, can also be responsible for the formation of scalings.
To prevent scale from forming in the first place, or to ensure that existing scaling are removed smoothly, we offer various scale inhibitors, such as hardness stabilizers, dispersants and wetting agents for the different applications.
Scale preventers for the food industry
Special additives prevent or reduce the formation of scaling in systems, machines and equipment used in the food industry. These scales can form due to the accumulation of mineral residues, dirt particles, proteins, fats or other impurities and can affect the efficiency of food processing.
Our food processing scale preventers meet the requirements and high standards of the food industry.
Scale preventers in the steam boiler – more efficient use of energy and reduction of energy consumption and operating costs
In boiler and plant protection, for the steam boilers and associated systems, specific requirements are in the foreground:
- Deposits of minerals, dirt particles or other impurities must be reduced, thus protecting the boiler and heat transfer surfaces.
- scale preventers should have corrosion-inhibiting properties to prevent the formation of corrosion on the metallic surfaces of the steam boiler. They should form a protective film that protects the surfaces from aggressive chemical reactions.
- They must be adapted to the specific water qualities and conditions of the steam boiler. They should be able to handle varying degrees of water hardness and prevent the formation of deposits regardless of water quality.
- They should not leave any residue that could affect the performance or integrity of the boiler, i.e. they should be easily removed from the surfaces of the steam boiler without leaving any residue.

Scale preventers for cooling water – prevention of scale in cooling systems
The formation of lime scale (scaling) in the cooling water lines, heat exchangers and other critical components of the cooling system must be prevented. The same applies to the crystallization of minerals, which should be inhibited to prevent the deposition of lime.
In addition, to protect the metallic surfaces in the cooling water system from corrosion, deposit inhibitors have corrosion-inhibiting properties. They form a protective film that protects the surfaces from aggressive chemical reactions with the cooling water.
They also exhibit a dispersing effect and thus support the removal of suspended particles and dirt from the cooling water. Scale preventers keep particles in suspension to prevent their deposition on surfaces.
Thanks to fouling preventers, the formation of biofilms, such as bacteria or algae, is prevented in cooling water systems. With their antimicrobial properties, they can inhibit the growth of microorganisms and thus reduce the formation of biofilms.
To treat different water hardness levels, pH values and other water parameters, we naturally offer a wide variety of scale preventers that can be adapted to the specific water quality of the cooling water.
In doing so, our scale preventers can be easily removed from the cooling water system without leaving any residue.
The products shown on our website are only a selection of our entire product range. There is no universal remedy for the rapid removal of impurities. Some can be removed well with alkaline agents, others better in the acidic range. The large variety of conceivable cleaning problems and the large number of additives, inhibitors and ready-to-use cleaning solutions offered by us make it advisable to obtain detailed advice before starting cleaning.
The same applies to inhibitors, defoamers, scale preventers, corrosion inhibitors, pickling inhibitors, etc. Depending on the plant, material, product and the type of boiler/cooling water is used, different individual challenges arise. We are well equipped for them.
